"Change
will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.
We
are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

Youth Leadership
MYAN is committed to empowering youth to take the lead to create positive change in their communities. Our year-long youth leadership program, the MYAN Youth Leaders Alliance, is a great opportunity for youth across the state to gain skills in leadership and advocacy that they can use to make a difference in their own lives and the lives their peers. Visit the youth leadership page for more information on MYAN's youth leadership programming.
MYAN Trainings
NEW for 2013: Train with MYAN as a Super Power Partner!
What's that? A Super Power Partner is a Maine-based group of youth chosen to work closely with MYAN. MYAN will select 8 or 9 groups to become part of the Super Power Partner Program. Groups will enter into a partnership with MYAN staff and will be given between 2-4 on-site training opportunities with MYAN Superhero Staff. Trainings will occur throughout the year and be tailored to each groups’ individual development, topic area and the natural progression of their action plans.
These trainings may include: Youth Leadership & Engagement -- Advocacy Skills to Support Policy and Environmental Change -- Action Planning -- Team Buidling/Group Development...and much more!
Like the sounds of MYAN's training model, but aren't sure if you're ready to don your super hero suit just yet? Join MYAN at one of our Youth/Adult Partnership Trainings, which will coming to a community near you in May 2013!
